The Arcam CD5 and CD5+, both fine players, were designed to use the same transport and chipset as the Naim CD3, and just like the Naim CD3 they respond magnificently to our attention.
The finished sound is not a few inches (centimeters to the metrically disposed) behind the converted Naim CD3s. Some listeners quite prefer the Arcam; especially when told the cost.
The converted Arcam is a giant killer of the most excellent proportions; hearing it for only a few moments will convince you just how special CD replay can be.

The work consists of a good few procedures and parts as used in the Naim CD3 upgrade but, of course, the original Arcam 5 CD internal power supply is retained - albeit rebuilt and refined.
